Women who Smoke Cigars - its Our Revival!
Thank God For Cigar Women...
This is not really a discussion but more a thank you to all of the women that enjoy cigars as much as the men. I have been enjoying cigars since I was 15, growing up in a prominent Italian family it was a right of passage of sorts and I took to it and never looked back. I can say that one way or another every great time I have ever had took place while enjoying a great cigar, and it was always with the male figures in my life. The one thing I always wished for was to enjoy the same great times with women. I have always pondered the reason why the women where never to be included in our ritual and I must say this always left a very unsettling feeling in my heart. Then I met the women we all know as Damsel and she has been a light in this almost darken and forgotten thought I have carried for many a year, this is a thank you to her. The cause she is committed to is not only just but well over do in this man's eyes, it has been far to long that that female should be considered less feminine because she chooses to indulge in cigar smoking. I thank all of the ladies out there who have taken up this great past time and hope to smoke a fine cigar with all of you at one time or another, keep up the cause and thank you Damsel for fighting the great fight.

Damsel has something truly special here with the SOTL site. Yes, the women can join all the cigar sites on the net, but do we really have something to call our own??? A site just for women??? Women are treated differently when shopping and smoking cigars (and I've experience the different treatment right here in the Big Apple) and this is the right place to express our experiences.
Damsel keep on doing what you're doing and don't let the nay sayers stop you!!

I think what makes this so special is that this site comes from the heart, and when something comes from your heart - the light shines through, and special is a natural result... and good begets good, and you my friends are very very good...and I thank you for seeing my vision!

Thank you too! Though I've been smoking cigars for a few years now, I'm still learning all the time. I personally don't think its less feminine for a woman to enjoy a cigar, in fact I get a huge amount of attention from the males when I light one up....I think it is probably more sensual. Of course that isn't always a good thing either, but its cool to a point. I did get treated oddly in the cigar shop when I first went...the first couple times I knew they thought I was buying for a guy...then they started pushing the flavored cigars....now that they know me its all cool. But I must say I don't at all feel comfortable having a smoke in the shop because of the clients....I'd much rather a cigar bar. This is a great site to continue in the learning and sharing of experiences - that is awesome!

what a great invite Tony, u are such a gentleman - Tina, as women, we haven't had the opportunity to sit around and smoke with other cigar smokers as much as the guys have, so our learning more about the "how tos" has been limited to basically forging out on our own... Mr. Nyac, has so graciously offered to be our on site guru, and has created a group just for that purpose, learning about the art of smoking...he knows his stuff, and what little he doesn't know, he'll find out for us!
and now for u, Mr. Tony - is that invite open to everyone...

The invite is always open for the ladies, as far as this "Art of Smoking" thing goes it is real simple, cut/light/smoke/repeat. I see no art involved.

As the very lucky husband of a SOTL I must say........enjoying, discussing and shopping for cigars is so much more enjoyable when your partner is there with you. I find it funny sometimes that so many BOTL's use going to a shop as a way to "get away" from home and the wife. Why? It's something that i can't understand. Sharing the Love of fine cigars takes on a whole new dimension when shared with someone that you share so much with already. I must admit in the more than 20 years I have been smoking cigars a woman in a tobacco shop was not only a rarity but some treated it as an intrusion. I am so glad to see things changing! And Damsel, I truly believe you are leading that parade. As i watched my wife smoke an Oliva V I realized she's walking right there with you, waving the flag as hard as she can.....Way to go ladies, and gentleman it is our duty as BOTL's to welcome them and honor them.....It's about time.

Ya know, Tony, I've been meaning to thank you for your post here. I decided tonight I was going to post. I have had the window open for a couple of hours now, and am just now MAKING the time. Your words are encouraging to all SOTL's. And you're correct, Damsel is carrying the torch!
As I read my hubby's words of agreement, it gives me hope that the barriers are being broken and we are making strides in being accepted in the circle. We're not looking for Cigar World Domination....we just want to hang out and enjoy a cigar!
